All Hero Certified Burgers are made 100% Canadian, range-fed, hormone and antibiotic free Angus beef with full traceability.
Staff has given verbal assurance of halal status. They advertise Halal beef from their supplier: http://heroburgers.com/about/naturally-better-angus-beef/
Score reflects a halal certificate on file.
Overpriced and blend burgers. This place is not worth the money, there are a lot of other Halal restaurants out there that can serve you the same type of burgers for a fraction of the cost that they charge. I've never gone back.
Patial halaal? Hmm better stay away. Always a chance of cross contamination. Idk how they receive islamic certification? Getting a halaal certificate has become that cheap this days? So untrustworthy.
Seems to be closed for renovations.
I called here, of course the Turkey is NOT Halal, but they offered to "cook it separately if you request". I guess that justifies the Partial Halal notification.
I went to this location because it's easy access from East York. This is a 100% halal and organic Angus (Black Cow) supplied chain of restaurants. The owners have had a large beef slaughterhouse for years but were focused on supplying to the States more than focusing on doing something locally in Ontario. Well, here it is. BURGER Aficianados, the halal gourmet burger is finally here. The Burger patties themselves are delicious. They are preseasoned and have a good juicy texture. There is a slight charbroiled flavor that you can catch in every bite. The bread does NOT have a purely North American white enriched flour appeal. The regular non whole wheat bread looks like a yellow Chinese bakery product or something you find in syrian and meditteranean bakeries as a "white" bread. It is still delicious and comes standard with a sesame seed poppy seed mixture on the top bun. The produce is fresh and crispy, the sauce and cheese are creamy and up to a gourmet standard, and the flavour is all in all like any non-halal fare. The beef patties we ordered were 8oz. (largest) and 4oz. (smallest). They have a 6oz as well. They were all circular and similar in diameter. Only the thickness was different from one to the other. The fries are not salted heavily like in fast food joints and are fresh in flavour and texture. They do seem cut and seasoned and then frozen before they come to the shops and don't have that typical homemade fries flavor that you get at a local greek owned restaurant on the corner or halal place. All in all, good eats for someone who wants to enjoy a good burger and feel that it's something uniquely north american and not adapted into a bun kabab or kebbeh sandwich.
Hero, is truly a Canadian burger, 100%. This is my favorite location and Hero Certified Burgers are the "go to" option when yearning for a quick home style burger. This location is several steps above the sidewalk. There is a ramp a few yards West of them. Near the Scotia Bank, and a barber shop. The seating is arranged with lots of room to turn around and maneuver wheelchairs, walkers or strollers. The wooden tables and chairs are free-moving, making it easy to arrange the seating as is best suited for you. The service is exceptional. Every time Ive come here, I receive table service. With the food arriving on parchment paper covered tray. Which I prefer over wasting bags or boxes when staying to eat. They custom make the burger as I request, and its always fresh. The athmosphere is wonderful. A radio plays loud enough to drown out the beverage fridge, but not an annoying volume. This review has a focus on accessibility, and I can't overlook the fact that there is no automatic door opener button. it can be challenging to get in, for anyone with hand grip difficulties, or compromised arm muscle strength. Additionally, the door is located in a corner of the outside building. Making it impossible to open the door wide, more than 90 degrees. With the limited area the door swings open & the weight of the door, this can be difficult to open. Thankfully the staff are quite observant and will rush to help when they see you. I highly encourage, and look forward to Hero Certified Burgers investing in the community with a fully accessible entrance.
