About Mai'da

The name mai'da is pronounced maa-e-da, and simply means dining table or banquet. Our cuisine is truly Indian, with a real emphasis on using the freshest ingredients and reducing wastage, a passion for cooking combined with attention to detail means we do not use frozen meat or poultry and our fish is from sustainable sources, mindful of our enviornmental responsiblity, most of our ingredients are from local suppliers and of English origin. Also at Maida like in India, we meticulously combine various spices and vegetables to bring forth vivid colours and unique flavours to our menu. Food is prepared afresh and not as a permutation of base sauces, a far cry from the generic curry houses of today's Britain. To futher the theme of wholesome Indian food, and for you to enjoy it in its true sense, we are a completely non-alcoholic restaurant. We believe good food should be experienced by the palette, unadulterated. Open Mon to Fri: 12 to 3pm & 6 to 11pm, Sat & Sun: 2 to 11pm.

Very good buffet, one of the best I've been to. The Indian starters appeared a little dry, but the soups were excellent. The Kunna gosht, paya and Desi gosht were also very good. Nice kheer and gajar halwa. Couldn't manage to taste half of the dishes. Overall recommendable.

Was really excited to visit this place. It was crazy busy on a Friday night but a friend of mine knew the owner so we got seats pretty quickly. Ordered the butter chicken , a lamb curry, thread chicken, kebab and tai pai chicken. The thread chicken was my favourite. Chicken fingers wrapped in noodles and deep fried. served with a spicy/sweet sauce. Dessert: brownie sizzler was amazing!

The place is done up very nice. Very classy. There is plenty seating, and can accommodate an additional 500 upstairs for events. The food is however a bit bland and lacks the flavour found in restaurants in the area. The desserts looked pretty good, but I've been told it's overpriced for what you get.

Absolutely stunning place with well chosen decor. I went in with family for the desserts, we had the ferrero rocher milkshake which was so good I went back the next day for some more, we also ordered the waffle sizzler which was a bit too sweet for us so didnt enjoy that too much. The service was a bit slow and could use some improvement. I did take a peek at their food that was being served to other tables and it looked delicious. Cant wait to go back to try the other stuff on the menu.
