Meat here is fine but rest of the grocery is expensive. Also please note, and this is important. As Muslim owners, they have taken advantage of fellow Muslims in the city. When it came to Ramadan, they jacked up their prices and infact medjool dates that we got cost $17 there. Same dates were for $8.99 in superstore. The owners should be ashamed of themselves of taking advantage of those Muslim customers who are coming there to shop, showing their support, but the owner is cranking up the price as they know dates are mostly bought during Ramadan. Why isn't superstore doing that. Also their 5% ROYALTY IS A SCAM. It isn't 5% of overall prices. It is overall 2% or 1%.

It's one of the biggest halal stores in calgary. Prices are little higher then superstore or Walmart, although par with other halal stores. Meat is good quality. We love there deli section. Good variety with reasonable prices. We go there mainly for meat or deli.

Don't buy ground beef from here, even their lean meat is disgusting. I found bones in it. The chicken is good though

I agree with the first part. Vegitables and fruits are fresh and cheap but rest of the grocessory is little costly. I am doubt for the meat to be Zabiha Halal. I went to the store myself and met with the manager. Tried to confirm if that is Zabiha Halal? Strange thing is he did not know the difference between Halal and Zabiha Halal. He also could not justify which slottered house they are buying meat. Please research before buying Zabiha Halal meat from there. I go to the store for only fruits, vegitables and Milk.

I was looking for a larger ethnic food store than your regular strip mall, and was directed to Basha Foods International - it didn't disappoint. The new location (they moved in Apr 2011) is spacious, well-arranged, and clean. Their meat and vegetable department is probably one of the more organized I've encountered, quite similar to what you would expect from one of the major grocery chains. Well worth checking out!
