I've been a regular customer of queens since early 2012 every Thurs-Fridays, back when they were still located in front of New World with an allocated terrace for hookah. And although the overall ambiance have improved and their food presentation look more appealing than it used to.. I can't help but wish the flavor was like what it used to be. Maybe they changed their entire recipe book? Idk but it tastes different. Maybe now, a decade later, they are under new management and the chef definitely changed, but I can't help but feel the recipes are tweaked to cater the filipino taste buds. Sure, it tastes good, but not Indian way good. A Filipino-Indian take perhaps of the cuisine. And I eat Indian food regularly, cause my neighborhood is surrounded by Indians. Vegetable biryani had noticeable cardamom seeds on it and overpowering. Chicken tikka masala was thick and creamy, sure, but the smokey flavor was not present, it leaned more into the butter masala. Garlic cheese naan was wayyyy toooooooo oily, but it tastes good and a bit salty. Palak Paneer was definitely saltyyyyyy. Martabak curry needs umami. Mango lassi lacked yogurt and more of the diluted sour mango flavor. It's IG worthy sure, and the serving size is plentiful considering the price range. But the service charge was indeed exorbitant and made the dining experience feel more expensive than it should. Unfortunately, I think I won't dine in here again. There are more restaurants to try in the world. I'm closing this chapter now. It was great before and we had a long run. Thanks for the memories 🙌
