Decor: I can only compare to the halal places in California, and I tell you MOST of the halal places in Glasgow are much nicer looking than the ones in Northern California. This is obviously due to the large community here. Also, I just wanted to point out that there are far more than 10 halal resturaunts here in Glasgow. Maybe 10 on a block, there are like 100 here in this city, because there is a HUGE pakistani community and overall there is a huge Muslim community in Britain. So Chicken Hut is a regular spot for non-muslims as well. Now, decor: It's a tiny place the first the small section you come into has a menue on the wall and display cases with some of the best looking kebabs, pakoras, tikkas, you've ever seen. They are displayed just kebab upon kebab, and turnover is quite high so nothing sits too long. It was packed inside and the guys behind the counters were going fast cooking up people's orders. The place and the delicous spicy scent in the air reminded me of pakistan. The smell is intoxicating. It's definatey not just a pakistani naan and curry place. Altough you can order that too, its a smaller variety. You can order food to go here. Then there is a small section over to the right where you can pull out a chair and eat, they will come and take your order and bring your food there. My family said the decor was average when compared to other places, but me being northern californian I thought it was quite nice. Went to the bathroom, there were two, one for men and one for women, inside it was an average two stall bathroom. I would compare it to McDonald's. Relatively clean and normal looking, not like some of the halal joints I have been to. But it certainly had no decorative flair. We ordered: a Donner wrap, chicken pakoras, chicken tikka with naan, the four seasons calzone with chicken (hey the place is called chicken hut, I thought we'd give the chicken a go), and chicken fillet burger. The Donner wrap was good, something like a shawerma. They do use lamb instead of beef in Britain, so the meat is a bit more tangy. I'm not used to it. More meat and less sauce in the wrap. But the wrap was easy to handle and didnt fall apart. The chicken pakoras were so nicely done, we took more home. they were fried in some batter that was mixed with red masala. So they looked spicey, but they tasted wonderful. The chicken filet burger was a bit mayonaisey and bland. The chicken was juicy and cooked nicely inside it, but the condiments could use some help.It had lettuce, a bit of onion and a huge dollop of mayonaise. The chicken tikka and naan came on a plate with the chicken on the naan with onions tomatoes, lettuce and chutneys on it. You could fold it up and eat it, and I would have to say it was also very nicely done. My all time fave was the four seasons calzone! It had vegetables in it, red pepper, corn, onions, and we ordered with chicken (you could have lamb too) and the calzone came with cheese melted on top, boy was it just wonderful. The taste of the calzone, wasnt just pizza saucey, it had depth, and spices that made it different from your average mozzerella cheese and tomato calzone. By far the best thing I ate there, but everything else was good too. I would recommend this place to anyone here on a visit like me.

Excellent food and service. I really love their desi breakfast and they have many other desi food specialties. Seriously would recommend.

If your looking for good quality fried chicken or a good decent chicken burger then this place won't disappoint you. They also serve various kebabs and curries; the chicken tikka achari is my personal favourite! Another great thing about this place is that they have there own proper chip shop style chip fryer and make real chip shop style chips! Fantastic. They also serve a full desi breakfast on the week-ends as well.
