This is a full-halal full-service Middle Eastern restaurant serving a standard list of salads, appetizers, entrees, and sandwiches. The dining room has seating for 40-50 people and is very family friendly. Parking is available in the back for free or on the street on South Broadway. South Broadway is on the rougher side, so leave the 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 at home. This reviewer tried the chicken shawerma plate ($12), served with grilled chicken, rice, and a yogurt sauce. Tasty, but unremarkable, completely in-line with the inexplicable Middle Eastern chicken and rice craze in NYC. The falafel ($4) was inexplicably tough, bland, and disappointing. The service was absolutely fine, though the food was on the slower side in coming. This seems to be a decent place to get lunch or dinner, though the food is unremarkable. 3/5 stars for quality, 4/5 stars for value.

Nice sized restaurant with comfortable dining area. Friendly staff. I've been here several times and the food is just average with above average prices - nothing spectacular - sandwiches, platters, hummus, tea, desserts. Free Parking is available in the back with a place to smoke hookah. If I'm hungry it's an available option but its not something that I crave.

I have eaten here a couple of times and the food is good. The ambiance needs a little improvement. They also have Iftari arrangement in Ramadan which I did not like in particular due to the quality & quantity of the food. However, I love their fish. The store next door is also a place to visit and shop because of its novelty.

I eat at Ya Hala a lot. Nice standard fare. Nothing spectacular, as other reviewers have said. But there is a great, very large, Arabic market next door selling halal meats, dairy, and lots of goodies. and there is ample parking in the back of both establishments.

i've eaten at Ya Hala many times over the last several years. it's always had good, but not spectacular, shawarma, kabobs, hummus, fattoush, and various meat specials. in westchester, it's hard to find much better. service has been usually average-to-poor depending on the crowd. recently has changed ownership, with a marked improvement in service (and slight shrinking of portions) on my last visit.

Shwarma is good and cheap. However, the dinner buffer was $14.00 yesterday, thought that's costly given the amount of variety offered.

Ok. I am not sure about the other food but the GYRO was terrible. It wasn't even a Gyro. It was pieces of beef (not gyro beef) put in cold hard pita bread. and they charged like 6 bucks for it. I would not recommend it at all. My cousin is 7 years old and one gyro wasn't even enough for him!

Nice Middle Eastern resturant. Spoke with staff to confirm Halal status, confirmed that everything is Halal. Place is nice (standard you should expect in Yonkers/Brooklyn/Queen area, others might find it a little less) and clean. Short staffed but very friendly. We ordered their combination and fish, per head cost runs around $15. Food was very good, we enjoyed it a lot. They also have sweats which were good. The place is large, and partitioned into two areas, I guess one is for the families and other for general crowd. Parking on a busy day could be little difficult, we were able to find paid parking right in front for 25c/30m.
