I have been going to this place since 2005, Chicken Biryani is still excellent even though I noticed once in a while average ones. It is purely a take out. Customer service is excellent as long as the wife is there, husband seems to be totally non customer oriented, can someone please put him to a customer service training course. Other food which I have tried is beef biryani, which is good, parathas are excellent, Nasta(halva puri) good, nihari good, naan excellent, beef kebab average, chicken kebab excellent.
This restaurant is definitely over rated and the food is not that good. It's not the cleanest looking place either which is the main reason why I am not going back.
Pretty good food at reasonable prices. My husband loves the bihari beef paratha roll!
i ve been there several times, after the the constant praises by friends and family. i can say i was not disappointed, first time i tried chicken Biryani, and seekh kebabs and it was excellent. Since then i have gone several times, i tried various items such as kebab rolls, nihari and bun kebabs and it was overall good. As far as the reviews below regarding customer service, the owners have been courteous, they would always let us know how long we would have to wait for an order.Any recommendations that i required, such as heating up the food were all made. Desi corner, OVERALL gets two thumbs up from me and i urge everyone everyone to try it.
Been here several times. The staff is very friendly and courteous. Nice family owned establishment. Food is very delicious and fresh. I have tried the biryani, kababs, and nihari. Everything was amazing. Definitely a repeat.
The Chicken biryani is good, although the quality has deteriorated over the years. The pieces of chicken have gotten smaller, and the spices are not longer as generous as they used to be, which has affected the taste. Still, their biryani is not bad and is worth the occasional business. That said, customer service or manners is not the owner's or their staff's strong points. The owner is a real piece of work, one best avoiding, although his wife is definitely a lot more customer oriented and friendly. Please be advised, hygiene is not the greatest in this restaurant, and I wouldnt advise the health conscious to risk getting takeout from here, as you may get sick.
One of the worst food I have tasted in my life. Got Biryani, Beef and Chicken Karahis (or qorma), and boy did it taste bad. That too on a Saturday night, when the restaurants produce their best to attract customers over the weekend frenzy. The Karahis/Qormas were stone cold/frozen from inside, as it seems they had it frozen, and when someone comes for it, they nuke it in the microwave and give it to them (our bad luck, they didn't nuke it well and we had to re-do the nuking process and still didn't manage to establish the taste). And If that wasn't enough, had a diarrhea for two days, along with a friend, who embarked on this adventure of trying new place. A bad night out indeed, specially when you have to drive 50kms to pick up the food for the sake of trying a new place.
good place for on the go food, biryani tastes pretty good so does the kabob rolls.
I found Biryani here is fresh/hot most of the time, good for a quick bite. Service is more of a Desi Style (in other words I am not impressed). I've stopped going to this place.
Very good biryani as well as good place for take out or quick food... Price are very good too. Would definitely recommend to anyone for take out!
Good takeout
Their Mutton Biryani is the best in the GTA. Chicken Biryani is pretty good too. The other food that is served is also pretty good.
biryani is very good
BAD CHOICE IF YOU LOVE LIFE AND HEALTH We bought food for our family reunion from this place (Biryani and Chicken Karahi). It tasted OK but within 3 hours of picking up (and within 4 hours of supposedly cooked), the chicken karahi started to smell like week-old ROTTEN CURRY. about 2 hours later, people started THROWING UP AND HAD RUNS for the entire night. IT WAS A BAD CHOICE FOR US TO BUY FROM HERE AND WOULD NEVER AGAIN GO THERE FOR ANY FOOD. RATHER WOULD HAVE BAGEL AND CREAM CHEESE FROM TIMS! So the next morning (today) I called the place to let them know so they dont repeat their mistake with someone else, Mrs Amjad (owner) was very rude with me- instead of apologizing and promising not to serve old food, she was adamant that it was freshly made at 10am that morning. She wouldnt let me talk and was yelling at me on the phone and claimed that my food handling wasnt good... I am not sure what she meant by food handling as we consumed the food within the first 3 hours of it being cooked... :-~ EXTREMELY RUDE AND DISHONEST LYING PEOPLE HERE! BEWARE!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE... Food definitely taste good at first but if you are planning on consuming later like 3, 4 hours later, dont bother buying from here,... their curries smell like week old rotten rice...DO YOURSELF FAVOR SAVE YOUR MONEY AND HEALTH!
We used to go there since almost 6 years and in this period of time we did lots of parties with them there quantity is best in all plus there quality is always the same. We don't know why uswrld remarks about there quantity and dishonest. About there behavior i can say that mr owner sometimes behaves bad but in presence of lady owner customer service is excellent. She cares for customers a lot. Food is still awesome. Biryanis are best recommondations kababrolls beharikabab nihari and bun kabab. I must say best take out food in GTA and good for party caterings.
I have been there many times at different intervals nut am really sorry to say that the food quality which was never above mark has further deteriorated. The owner can be quoted as perfect example of rudeness. Specially the lady owner might has seen some success and wealth first time in life so is out of her socks. The lady is also dishonest. I ordered them in Ramadan for Aftari chicken boti and seekh kabab and did not bother to count as I never expected dishonest for Aftari specially when you are paying the asked price without negotiation. The seekh kebab were 20% less than ordered and we found ourselves in anembarrassing position in mosque. To our surprise, we complained =, she responded that they double count it and next time you should count before leaving. The next part to it is that we repeated the order next week and when went to pick up the stuff, we insisted to count. She did not disappoint us and the seekh kebabs were short. As it happens, she put the blame on the cook and started scolding him that you told her that these were counted and still she was adamant to accept her fault for the first order. Also, she thinks that she is distributing charity and the customer is not paying.
The ambience was lacking. But the food was really good. I've been here a number of times, I think they change the name quiet a few times...But fofr the price and the quality of the food, its amazing!
I don't agree with isk73. I think chicken biryani at this location is awesome (inspite of the fact that I will vouch at many shortcomings below). Okie so the only good things are chicken biryani and shami kababs. Chapli kababs are ok. However, the owners are really discourteous and disrespectful people. Employees also have a strange attitude. I have been picking up food from here for a while but I hate the couple who owns it coz they have a very bad attitude. Last night I was asking for recommendation when owner said that he hasn't eaten anything from here and i shud know what i wanna eat and he said this horribly. Also, i picked up aaloo keema and the potatoes were so hard that i had to take them out and boil in water to make them edible. The curries and everything else except for Biryani is not fresh and not good at all. If I had to rate for biryani i would rate excellent but since i hv to consider everything including other food, i cannot go beyond average.
We tried the Chicken Biryani as a take-out. Nothing extra-ordinary and tasted just like the hundreds of take-out biryanis that are available across the GTA. Don't quite undersatand what everyone is raving about.
In my opinion this is the best food in the GTA. Whenever I bring guests from the States I make sure they eat their biriyani or kabab roll.. I typically get Paratha Kabab Roll OMG the best... As for the comments on service please understand the aunties in the back work very very long hours and work very hard. The male owner is a bit cranky at time but if you bump into the wife she is very customer orintated. Desi Corner get's 5 Stars from me!
Biryani is the best and econimical. Also halwa poori is available on weekends. Tea, shami kabab, fish fry pieces are good and tasty too.
food is great, specially biryani. best in missisauga. for the excellent. quality of food it doesnt matter if u have to wait. and the owners are very nice but if there not in a good mood its ok.
Excellent food with bad face, owners have attitude and no courtasy.
Best place in MIississauga for takeout food.taste is very good, economical, fresh and clean.better than any resturant in Toronto.
WE JUST IMIGRATWD FROM PAKISTAN TO CANADA AND , I HEARD ABOUT ' DESI CORNER' FROM SOME OF MY FRIENDS AND WE TRIED THEIR FOOD , THE FOODS WAS EXCELLENT AND THE SERIVCE WAS VERY GOOD. BIRYANI, NIHARI, KABAB ROLL ARE HIGHLY RECOMENDED.
Good for a take out place. Chicken Biryani is good
I bought their $5.00 biryani, and it was VERY VERY tasty. Best take-out chicken biryani I have had in a long time. Service was abrupt and to-the-point. No kissing up to customers. But it is a take-out grocery store and not a restaurant. Overweight aunties working in a hot kitchen, waht do you expect?
Ek Dum Perfect. This place is the ULTIMATE BIRYANI house in Mississauga. No one even comes close. I have tired more than 20 places and this tops the biryani list. Whether you prefer to have a biryani and movie night, a warm family dinner or just plain ol friends get together, this is your place to be. Ofcourse it's only carry out so don't expect dine-in service. The beef biryani is on top of the list and is a fast seller. Chicken and Mutton go hand in hand. They've also recently started Pulao on weekends. Can't wait to try that out. On the side, the seekh kabobs are a good deal too. We do this atleast once a week, I would've been a platinum biryani member by now if they had a customer loyalty program. Ps. Don't forget to pick up your Pakolas while you're there. Alienix
Mash ki Daal and seekh Kabab were too good . Will love to go again. Sad part is it is only take out :(
The food is excellent and service is good too. I get my food in approx 5 min time which is approx everywhere. The food is fresh and the new look seems to change the atmosphere as more efficient and cleaner. The best thing I like about them is they cook openly which insures hygiene. I think they should start dine in as well.
the food is excellent-nihari, haleem, chicken biryani-to name a few. Moreover, the resturant is very clean and i hear that they have just renovated their store. My advice to all of you, is to go try this amazing pakistani food, i am 100% sure you will love it!
The food is awsome. I've seen it cooking. They make it very neatly. As far as customer dealing is concern the staff has been very friendly to me. Their restaurant's new look is outstanding. It's very neat and clean.
All i have to say that this place have some ups and downs but far the Most Best Tasty Food in Town, Also some ppl have mention about staff being rude and all i want to say to those customers that please realize this atleast they are working hard and trying to make a living out of this not everyone is fortunate. They work long hrs and tiring job standing infront of the Oven for long hrs .But still very good food . I alaways get good service beacuse i always respect and say salam to all the aunty who worked there my food is always ready even if its busy.Do that and see the result your self.
Okay this experience is from about two years ago so i hope things have changed since then although some reviews still point to that one important issue: hygiene. I once went there to get some food around noon time. There was one person working there and he was mopping the floor. To take the order, the person put away the mop, mildly rinsed his hands with water (no soap) and proceeded to get my food. I thought that might be a one off incident but surprisingly another friend of mine related the exact same incident to me! Alot of people seem to like this place and Desi Corner was also featured in a video about serving halal food in GTA so i hope theyve got their act together now.
Desi Corner is not a full serve resturaunt, it is a combination of take out food and grocery-Meat Shop, yes ladies cooking good are little bit rude due to lack of customer relation experience but food are good and fresh and prices are reasonable
Definitely some of the best food in the GTA. Their biriyani is undoubtedly the best biriyani that money can buy in the GTA. Beats any other Pakistani/Indian food I've had in this region. Hygiene is questionable, especially when you look at how the facility is maintained. However, to date, I have not fallen sick from their food, no matter whether I have food when they open up in the morning, or when they close at midnight. Customer service is extremely poor .... staff are absent-minded, rude and sometimes ignore you for long periods of time. The lady-owner (unlike her husband) is very customer-service oriented, and if she's there, just direct your complaint to her and she'll take care of it immediately .... other wise good luck!
No doubt, the food is always fresh and quite affordable. Because of the volume of customers, sometimes delay occurs.
A good Restaurant is known for its quality of food, service and ambience. I found that the food was of excellent quality. The service was very prompt and satisfactory and the place was very neat and well kept. I would highly recommend this establishment to all my friends and relatives.
we wemt their yesterday and we tried their fried fish behari kabab excellent for the taste we foget everything they are still no 1 in Pakitani taste.
That one particular aunty was a little too rude; she was baking roti in the clay oven and I wanted a couple for my supper. I mentioned to her that I wanted mine lightly baked. And in a few minutes she's handing me my order; one burnt to black and the other one just fine. I told the other girl to replace that one dark one with a new roti. That aunty jumped in to srgue that it wasn't burnt and that that's how she would always make them. The other thing I noticed was that she had some 5 or more rings on her hands and using them to roll the dough for the tandoori roti. To be honest, I found that a little unhygeinic. My message to that aunty is that it won't hurt to be nice to people. That's one aspect not may DESI people think of as a tool to attract customers closer to their business.
LAJAWAAAB...is the first thing that comes to my mind when I think about food from Desi Corner. Though customer service is average, the quality and the quantity is amazing, and both the owners are very nice people. I think their chiken biryani and haleem are the best, just remind you the old days in pakistan
Food seems to be Excellent. I haven't had such a great desi taste in GTA. My god, their kebab roll, haleem and biryani are mouth watering. Owner Mr and Mrs siddique are very kind, customer service is average but not bad.For Fresh food, you have to wait a little. It is a small takeout, but hundred times better than restaurants out there. prices and rates are amazing!.
Food is average. Their place is right next to a couple of dumpsters, and this is very non-hygienic. All the smell of the trash comes into the food place. The customer service is terrible and absolutely pathetic. The owner is a lady and who makes her husband work like a slave, and the man obviously doesn't like that and gets back by treating customers badly and taking out his anger on customers. I have full mind to report this place for health inspection.
Food is no doubt very good but the attitude of workers and owner is terrible. I went in to buy shami, 1st the workers didn't pay any attention to me as I only want 4 shami than the workers were reluctant to fry the shami for me as they hv to take those shami out from freezer. I bought one time Gulab Jamun and wehn I opened the container at home I found out that gulab jamun has bad smell due to fungus. I took it back to the shop and owner 1st made bad face and than without saying anything returned my money. He should hv appologized to me for that but he didn't said even a single word as a courtesey. I feel very bad about the owner's attitude. If the owner wants to keep the customers intact than they should improve their behavior towards the customers otherwise .....
I liked the food. But just to let you know if u havent been there that Desi corner is a TAKEOUT not a formal restaurant. But still the food is GREAT
Food is awsome. I have never had such extra ordinary desi taste in North America. Its a true desi taste. They should improve sitting arrangements and get organized. Its only take out. Their pulao, nihari, karhai, shami kabab, biryani and all other stuff is excellent.
Undoubtedly the best Pakistani taste in whole GTA. Check their Biryani, Nihari, Haleem and Seekh Kabab. All are outstanding. Its only take out. Its not a very fancy place but certainly taste is far much better than other big names in the town who thug money for nothing. This place could rightly be called "pheeki dukan and really oonchaa pakwaaan".
