(please note: not all branches of the Spur restaurant are halal. I'm refering to the branch near Cavendish Centre in Claremont) I would rate Spur as being mediocre. Spur is an imitation American-style steak house. The food isn't bad, but it's not as good as it could be. The staff, at least on occasions I've been there, do a decent job. The place is packed on Thursday-Sunday and the staff have their work cut out for them. This branch has children's play room at the back, which my son enjoys. This branch of Spur does not serve Alcohol and has certification as to it's halal status from one of the local Islamic regulatory bodies. See their website at : http://www.spur.co.za/

This is one of 2 fully halaal Spur Steak Ranches in Cape Town (the third will be up in late 2005). Food is pretty good and so is the service.
