Great food with very nice variety. Bread unremarkable and slightly lacking in flavor- that is the only downside. On the expensive side but large portioned plates are probably good for two people.

I called to confirm and was told everything is halal except gyros. My family went there and they enjoyed the food and yes it is pricey.

I've been to Persian restaurants across the country, and have had a tough time finding anything as good as Chelokababi in the Bay Area. The rice and kababs (especially the koobideh) at Alborz are the best I've had anywhere. The baba ghanoush and hummus are really good here, too. It's not cheap, but food is quality.

Their food is very tasty. Everything except Gyros are halal. They do serve alcohol and have belly dancing on weekends :-(

This place sells alcohol. So would you really trust them when they say their food is Halal?

Lunch specials are fab. 4 course meal is served. Hot Bread apetizer, Soup, Salad, and entere served for about $6-10. Service is sometimes not the best, but food more than makes up for it. Not really sure if it is zabhiha. I once got a weak verbal assurance from the owner, but the fact they serve alchol is a huge downer.

Lunch specials are very good value. You get chicken or beef kabobs for 7 dollars plus soup and salad. Then for 10 dollars you can have lamb shank kabob with soup and salad. Lamb shank is very tender highly recommend it. The gyros are not halal from what they say. That is why I believe its halal because they admit that something isn't halal.
