The owners of this restaurant are Muslim and have confirmed its halal status. All food at this restaurant is certified halal.
Opened in March of 2004, the first day of the 2004 Philadelphia Flower Show, Nanee's Kitchen has quickly become a must stop for fans of Pakistani/Indian foods. Located in the historic Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia, PA. Nanee's Kitchen was started by 2 sisters from the North West Frontier Province in Pakistan. They use the recipies handed down to them by their mother (my grandmother aka Nanee). The aromas and flavors of fresh spices and ingrediants leave one wanting more. With a large selection of vegetarian dishes and chicken dishes their is something for everyone. Visit us Monday to Saturday at the Terminal.

Don't miss out their tea (Chai). You can try food before ordering them.
I think the owners have changed because when I went there, there was a brother from Bangladesh operating the kitchen. I could be wrong so please do verify who the original owner is. This place is in the Reading Terminal which is a pretty neat place in its own. Glad to have a halal option in there. The food was alright. I will buy it again because there are no other options. I hope the owner improves.
When I tasted this delicious food I said masha'allah and when I got finished I said Alhamdulillah! 😋😋
Delicious halal food and great service in Reading Terminal! Never met my own nanee so I don't know if the food is similar to her's but it's definitely like my mother's cooking. I would suggest ordering the chicken tikka.
Good restaurant With good taste of food. Seen a halal sticker on a board. Feel good to have a chat with Danish.
This place is excellent, masha'Allah! If you're looking for QUALITY Halal and Zabihah, go to Reading Terminal Market and visit Nanee's! You won't regret it. Quality, Professional, Delicious!
This place is in the reading market and surrounded by great food establishments. We decided to check it out after having a craving for some meat. We thought--do we really want more pakistani food? Well we figured why not walk by. We were greeted by a man and presumably his mother who offered us samples of their chicken korma/butter chicken/chicken tikka masala as he called it. My wife was hooked. She ordered that and I had chicken tikka. The food was good and the lassis were amazing.
The Mango Lassi was great and for my meal I had the Lamb Kebab Platter. The lamb was good but lacked some spice. Overall the food was good.
AoA. I am on a 45 days vacations. I am travelling from west coast to east coast every where. But I am sorry to say that this is the worst food I ever had. We came all the way from Pittsburgh to Philly by reading all the reviews, but that is the worst food we had in our whole trip. Please do not waste time there.
What a wonderful place. The food is great and cooked by a really pious, sweet cook. The hot sauce is...yum.
Food is fresh but bland. Service is very nice. They were using pre-packaged roti (Kronos brand) last time I was there. The Market is convenient, but crowded and hectic.
I had several meals there and it's good. It's quick and warm. The chicken is good, you can taste the herbs, but to me, the lamb is a bit salty. My favourite thing at Nanee's is the hot sauce =)
food was good and prepared quick
Very good food and friendly service. My wife and I went to have lunch there and we had a very good meal. Our only gripe is that the place should consider opening for breakfast.
Good food, friendly service, reasonable prices.
delicious with good portions and reasonable price. we were visiting philadelphia from nyc, and the food was perfect for a lunch break from the sightseeing.
This is located in the famous Reading Terminal Market. The food is very clean, priced right, and tasty. I personally did not like the chicken samosa, but that's just my taste. Their Kabob is the best as they insert the skewer in the tandoor right in front of you. Great place!
Nanee's Kitchen serves clean and halal food, samoosa both chicken and vegetable are worth trying.
Nanee's kitchen is the closest I can get to home cooked food from Pakistan! I have eaten Indian/Pakistani cuisine everywhere in the Philadelphia region, and this place just pleases your taste buds like nothing else! Try the Chicken Kota, Lamb Korma, and Keema Aloo. For veggie lovers, the Palak Paneer and Methi Anda are divine. Make sure to ask for a refreshing Mango Lassi too!
excellent food, good price and great service.
Excellent food at an excellent price. No Complaints from me at all. Great service - worth trying
excellent food and good price.
The menu is essentially halal chicken and vegatables cooked into various Pakistani dishes. Good healthy meals at a reasonable price.
Delicious food with reasonable pricing. My 14 month daughter had a hearty meal and she enjoyed the spinach chicken (chicken saag) served with the lentils (masoor daal) and rice. I would recommend it to all. The food is not spicy but is full of flavour.
I just had a very successful lunch party with all the food served from Nanee's Kitchen. They served me excellent quality food for 30 plus people in less than 24 hours. I served the food to my colleagues who comprised of some Indian, and some American people. Everyone absolutely loved the food. Everyone loved the Biryani, Chapli Kabab, Chicken Tikka, Mango Lassi, Pakorras and Somosas. I definitely recommend visiting this restaurant, the prices are very reasonable too.
Excellent food and cheap price. Worth trying.
