Excellent food, a tiny bit pricey depending on what you get, but well worth it! They have an outstanding lunch special (I think $8 or so for a gyro, fries, and a soda,) and I am a huge fan of their lentil soup, which is brilliantly seasoned and delicious. I am slightly less impressed with the kebab sandwiches - Adana Kebab one is great though. Location also has a small "Turkish grocery" set up. Their chocolates and cookies are incredible! Overall: 4.5 / 5

Along with the entrees mentioned previously, indulge yourself and try the beyti special - lamb kabab wrapped in thin bread, cut into small portions, and topped off with a smooth, lightly-seasoned tomato sauce. I think I'm going to get one right now... (updated 1/19/09) - The local regional newspaper, Newsday, recently voted Istanbul Cafe as one of Long Island's top 20 restaurants of 2008. Halal represent!

I think they changed ownership recently. The food is now absolutely amazing. I've had the lamb shish, chicken shish, and adana kabab and loved them all. Among the best Turkish I've had!

Everything on the menu is authentic turkish cuisine. excellent food at reasonable prices -that won't break your budget. The people are warm and friendly and the hospitality is top notch. I would recommend you try the iskendor kebab - excellent ! but then again everything is wonderful.

The food here is really good and the price isn't bad. They have burgers, gyros, kababs etc and it's not too far from campus so that cool. Recommended!

New place on Long Island, has the standard Mediterranean fare. The portions are pretty big and hearty, and the food tasted good. Nice ambience too.
