About Vik's Chaat Corner

The SF Bay Area's original Indian street food restaurant. Vik's Chaat has proudly been serving chaat for over 20 years. Vik's offers many regional chaat dishes from different parts of India. Chaat is Indian Street Food and literally means "to lick." Traditionally, this road-side snack was served on a leaf and was so tongue-tickling that one could not resist licking the last morsels from the leaf before discarding it.

I confirmed with the staff that they server halal meat. Tried their papri chaat and lamb samusas. Both were very delicious. It has got a very unique ambiance compared to any other chaat place, the place was crowded for lunch. Great chai as well.

Been coming here for years, and have seen them expand from a corner store to owning the entire block. Chicken katthi rolls are ok, as was their kheema samosas (lamb). Definitely catered for non desis. Kinda bland.

Love this place! Their samosas are bomb! The service is ok, I don't usually except Michelin rated services from these types of places. The restaurant itself was well accommodating and spacious. It was super busy the last I went and I was impressed how fast the food was ready. The pricing was good since its not really a sit down meal type of place. I would come here for a snack a few hours before dinner. Will definitely be back soon!

If you are into chaat, Vik's is the place. For a meal, however, there are other options with a more complete menu. You have to believe that they will complete your order correctly (since it comes out in stages), because they always do. It can also get very crowded.

Had the keema samosas- pretty good. The papri chaat was good too. The shami kabob was a little on the bland side. Skip the mango lassi.

Food is great, ambience is cheerful, its like one of those typical street side joints one would find in Pakistan or India. I would recomend the Bedda-Partha, Channa Bhattura, and Chana Samosa with tea (mixed dood patti chahin).

Extremely bad attitude. I had my flight from OAK at 12 pm & we were in the area around 11 am. I repeatedly requested the owner (or whoever was at the counter) to give us some chaat, tea or some snacks. He kept refusinf, saying 'we won't open till 11:30 am. I was visiting from New York, but had really bad experience in this area.

I recommend this place..lots of traffic on the weekends and their samosas and chaat are awesome. They do have biryani and chicken dishes as well.

While I've always gone to this hole-in-the-wall place for their delicious vegetarian "chaat", I just found out today that they get their meat from Indus Foods on San Pablo. So now I can enjoy their full menu!
