Voss Halal Meat Market

Not ideal for dining in, though accomodation is available. The main attraction is their fried fish... not deep-fried, but made fresh with desi spices. Order it to-go to add to your dinner at home... many varieties of fish available. The fried shrimp is also excellent.

The fish at this place is amazing. Not the nicest environment but not a hole in the wall either. Just be prepared to wait a while to get your food. Sadly, from a grocery perspective, the quality and selection seem to have gone down dramatically the last couple of times I went.

I returned to the Houston and this place after 7 years. It is still an excellent place for Zabihah Halal meat, fish as well as prepared meals. Not sure, if any other place in North America that will let you slaughter the chicken with your own hand or do it for yourself infront of you. Original Owner seem to have died. Prior to my travel to Houston, someone told me that Voss has closed down but that information proved to be wrong.

Best desi prepped fish in all of US.

The best fish in Texas great masala grill and sole passa fillet. Shrimp kata kat. I cant get enough.
