The staff of this restaurant has verbally confirmed halal status. All food at this restaurant is certified halal.
Here at Toros Restaurant, we combine the best of our native cuisine to create a menu rich in tradition. From our homeland to your plate, we bring you a wonderful assortment of dishes prepared from family recipes that have been pleasing palates for centuries. The foundation of our food is bread made of wheat flour including ekmek, pide, simit and manti. Grains are equally important, and you will find that bulgur and pilav are staples of the Toros kitchen. Kebabs are yet another favorite, dating back to the time when Turks first learned to cook over open campfires.

I do enjoy their food and it is decently priced. The only things that really bother me is the cracked glass table tops (can be dangerous) and they have alcohol on display. Even though it is a cozier than I would like seating arrangement, I can pass that by.
This is my family and friends go to Turkish restaurant. The lunch deal is awesome, a lot of tasty food (with a variety of choices) for a very reasonable price. The ambience is nice too.
Good food. Lunch special is very affordable. Otherwise, make sure you have ~$100 for 2. Negative: Alcohol on display.
Nice restaurant and very nice food... good when taking people/visitor out. People not so polite and that is why I gave it 4 ****
Most of the time the food here is great. Sometimes they don't have somethings on the menu but it's no reason to not go there. Great for taking people out once in a while. I will never reject Toros, since the chefs really know the taste and a great place to take people for authentic Turkish cuisine. Its not cheap. I don't agree with alcohol on premises. Halal restuarant with alcohol. LoL. CK:)
I stopped by here on our way home from the airport because my wife and I were really hungry. We were very happy with the food and our experience there. Few points to mention: - The food was great. Turkish food in general is very 'kebab-heavy'. That's just the way Turkish food is. - Price was pretty good, $32 for the two of us without tip. - The ambience was a bit hectic, and we were seated right in the middle of everything. They don't have a whole lot of room, so you may be seated very close to the table next to you. And the waiters/waitresses were running past us twice a minute. - Almost all of the waiters/waitresses seemed to be authentically Turkish. To me, that's a plus. - They do have alcohol, which is disappointing. - The food was brought to us very quickly. We were out of there in 50 minutes. Which is good considering they were very busy. I recommend it and aside from the alcohol bit, I would definitely take my friends/family.
We have gone here for years now. Over this period we've developed a love hate relationship with this restaurant. Overall it is above average. Although we have had our share of misses here from a particular server. Again I would recommend for a evening out or the brunch special, just don't let them take away your food before you are finished! Unfortunate they need to sell liquor here.
Their yogurt dishes are great. This Toros is a little pricier than the one on Main St (avg dish is betwen $17-$22), but the ambiance and service is top-notch. Would recommend.
Top marks for food and service.
Ok let me start off with the positives first. This place has one of the best service, ambience and cuisine of most halal places weve been to. We had the Adana kabob, iskander kabob, sis kabob, red lentil soup and veal liver. ALL of which were excellent- absolutely delicious. No complaints there. Prices were reasonable given the ambience, and there is valet parking! Now from an Islamic perspective, this place, unlike the Main St. Toros, has a bar. So for that reason eating at places like this becomes questionable. I guess this is a historic affinity of the Turkish catering to Europeans. All in all, this place is great if it werent for the alcohol.
We've gone again a couple of times since my last post. The adana and chicken kabob is awesome. The meat is succulent and tender. The rice servings are small but adequate. The deserts; baklava, almond and rice puddings were excellent. Stay away from the gyro and beef, it's not so good. Just make sure you articulate your order well b/c we've wound up with things we didn't order a couple of times. However, the wait staff is extremely courteous and attentive. They have valet parking at night which is convenient. I would say they have the best atmosphere and wait staff of any halal restaurant in the northern and central nj area that we have frequented for the price range.(check out my other reviews) We usually spend about 20$/person for entree, desert, and tip. Most entree's are 9-12$. Again, they do serve liquor, Which is a big downside!
Best Turkish food I have had in years. Excellent service, very reasonable prices. Try the mixed grill "karishik kebab"...awesome!
They serve Liquor. Very Upscale decor and good crowd. Good to take your Family or colleagues
Excellent food and very reasonably priced. The service is great and the atmosphere is also pleasant. They do serve liquor though which is the restaurant's downside. I recommend the restaurant anyhow because the halal food is superb.
The Best Turkish food I have ever had. The decor is very well done. I have been here a couple of times and the food and service is excellent. Do try the Lamb shank and the Beef liver. Only problem is that they serve Liquor I dont know how one would call it a Halal place.
