About Quetta/Prime Halal Meats

Founded in 1975 by Wali Scott, a Vietnam War veteran, who saw the need for Halal meat in the Philadelphia area. After three tours in the Vietnam War, Wali Scott was stationed in Turkey, where he accepted Islam. After returning home from Turkey he noticed the growing Muslim presence within the city so, in 1975, the very first Halal meat market in Philadelphia was born. Wali Scott’s youngest son, Amr Scott is creating a legacy of his own by building on the foundation his father left him.

Another stable in my family that we’ve been going to for years! Phenomenal people and service here! Parking is always hard in this area but still worth it! FIREMAN APPROVED!

No parking available. I had to park two blocks away to get meat. Prices are super high. Not going back.

Meat is good but way over-priced. The guy charges extra for cutting the meat in small piece or removing skin. Customer service was friendly.

The best place to get your meat. The workers are friendly and the service is top notch, I live in new jersey, but it's worth the trip to Philly to get everything I need from prime cuts of steak to deli meats (pastrami, corned beef, roast beef, smoked turkey to name a few), to freshly prepared sausages (turkey, veal, beef, smoked, mild or hot), to halal beef bacon. They have everything you need right here and more!

This is the only place that I go to. Everything is hand slaughtered (no machine slaughtered animals) and the owner is honest and has an old-fashioned commitment to customer service.

I buy my meat from Quetta, and I agree with the rest of reviewers that the owner is a great guy and friendly too. Although I always have some problem with my order but its minimal compared to the service I get.

I get meat here whenever I'm in the area. Very convenient Center City location, close to work. Selection of meats is good. What they don't have, they can get with a couple of days notice. Deli selection is OUTSTANDING. Clean. Owner is a great guy, very honest. Highly recommend

As is the case with many (but not all) Halal meat stores -- the meats and packaging aren't as neat and clean as they could be. Not enuf options for ppl wanting very lean meats. Very, very nice owner though -- remembers his customers.

This is one of the best meat places in Philly. Apparently the very first one in the city. I heard a story that the owner converted in Quetta after seeing Muslims eat together from the same dasterkhan, SubhanAllah, thats why he named it Quetta Halal. Authentic Italian steak and sausages, pastrami, bologne, made by the owner. MashAllah the father and sons are all practicing They close early though.

This guy is clean and good. It is important to have a clean butcher.
