Dining at Saba Yemeni Restaurant was a new and unique experience for me. The dishes were prepared with traditional Arabic spices and flavors. We ordered the Roast Lamb Haneeth, which reminded me somewhat of the Persian lamb shank. The meat was incredibly tender, flavorful, and served with rice cooked in a rich broth, along with a small and delicious side salad. We also tried the Shish Tawook, which is quite similar to Persian Joojeh Kabab. It was served with seasoned rice and a small salad. The chicken was well-marinated, juicy, and very tasty. Our third dish was Fahsa, a traditional Yemeni dish made with shredded meat. It was a bit spicy and heavily seasoned for my taste, so it was probably my least favorite dish of the evening. However, those who enjoy bold and spicy flavors may appreciate it more. For dessert, we ordered Kunafa and a pot of black tea. The Kunafa was different from the Turkish versions I have tried before, but it was still delicious and paired very well with the tea. Overall, it was a new and enjoyable culinary experience. If you are looking to try something different and explore authentic Arabic cuisine, I would recommend giving this restaurant a visit.
