Staff has given verbal assurance of halal status. From the management: 'Bay Area locations have halal carved chicken, halal carved lamb and beef, and halal grilled chicken kebab. San Diego, LA, Austin, and Orange County locations have halal carved lamb and beef. We understand and respect that the issue of Halal food can be quite complex, and there are a range of opinions surrounding this issue. Our goal is to be open and transparent so you can make an informed decision on whether to dine with us. Please note that we serve non-Halal meats and sell alcohol.'
We were excited to try this place, but left very disappointed. The concept is great- lots of choices, seemingly good food portions, etc. However, service left a lot to be desired. We arrived and placed our order via the kiosk at 6:04pm. We received our food around 6:40pm. Almost 40 minutes waiting. There seemed to be no sense of urgency to get our order done during the wait. No explanations, no acknowledgement. We got up a few times to check on the order and almost 30 minutes into waiting, they casually advised there was an ingredient that was out of availability. Not sure why it took that long to bring that to our attention. Two individuals who placed orders after us got their food a lot earlier. Upon finally receiving the food, the lamb in one of the wraps was already cold and barely had any quantity of it , and we got none of the sauces we ordered on the side (vinaigrettes). The two wraps we ordered were filled with just a whole lot of salad. It felt like they had ran out of protein. This was really a shame as the experience had the potential to be great. The individual flavors of the ingredients themselves were not bad. Really unfortunate as the unimpressive service was really what brought down the rating.
