Part of the Guzman Y Gomez chain — see all 106 locationsGuzman y Gomez was founded in Sydney in 2006 by New Yorkers and childhood best friends Steven Marks and Robert Hazan. Steven, a former hedge fund manager, and Robert, who had a background in fashion wholesale and retail, both missed the authentic fresh flavours of Mexican cuisine that they had grown up with in America.
Staff has given verbal assurance of halal status. From corporate headquarters: 'The chicken at all GYG restaurants is Halal certified - a copy of the certificate can be emailed upon request. We do have Halal certified chicken across all our locations. We do however work with other non-Halal meats and we do not follow halal processes in the kitchen.'
Ordered Large Queso Fries recieved a very small portion definitely not large. Ordered a vege Ques with half Avo- got a Ques full of avo and no veges. Drink wasnt cold- had to ask for a replacement, which was also warm, had to ask for ice. Was handed a faulty cup which appeared to have been somehow melted. Staff member argued with me on all the above rather than replacing my order when raised all concerns. No customer service skills. Female staff member and her colleagues found it funny and laughed at me as I walked off. Very unprofessional and definitely no care for the customer experience. Very disappointed GYG!! Drove to get a meal with my kids to have a very dissatisfying one!
