The capital region finally gets halal Chinese and we visited Central Halal Chinese and Grill today. We ordered the combo 3 and the sizzling beef and 2 mocktails. The positives: The fried chicken that came with the combo 3 was very flavorful and the coating was really good. The overall flavor of the sizzling beef was good and had a nice spice as well. Some suggestions: The fried rice was a bit on the mushier side, I do wish it was more "jhorjhore". The sizzling beef was good but the main appeal of the sizzling beef is for the beef to be sizzling when it's brought to you, which it wasn't. Also, the Manchurian chicken didn't seem like Manchurian chicken, it was like almost an entirely different dish that was similar to the mixed vegetables dish but with chicken. I would suggest either including actual Manchurian chicken or renaming the chicken dish served in combo 3. This is not to detract from the general quality of the food. We were easily filled up with the generous portions and seeing some of the other menu items such as the fuchka and chotpoti has us excited to come back. Overall experience: 7.5/10. Customer service was good and food was good. I would like to see more authentic Chinese dishes as well since this mostly caters to the Desi Chinese niche. They also had 10% discount for opening week, but they forgot to give us this discount (despite asking if it was applied). If they can improve on some their existing items and add more authentic Chinese items, that would be great.
