Tashkent is a hidden gem tucked away in a quiet food court, serving affordable Uzbek food, which is quite rare in Vancouver. I haven't tried Uzbek food elsewhere, so I can't comment on authenticity, but everything we had was unique, flavourful, and satisfying. The Plov is a must-try. The rice is packed with flavour, and the mix of ingredients gives it a great texture. The Lagman noodles were also delicious, reminding me of hand-pulled noodles with a rich and savoury beef sauce. The cheese and vegetable pancake made for a tasty side dish as well. I also enjoyed the Manti. The filling was flavourful and well-seasoned, although parts of the dough were a little firm. Even so, they were delicious when eaten with the accompanying condiments. Tashkent is well worth a visit if you’re looking for unique flavours.
