Haifa Cafe is truly one of Calgary's hidden gems! We drove over 30 minutes just to check it out, and it was worth every minute. The atmosphere is unlike any other café I've visited. It's peaceful, family-friendly, and beautifully Islamic. Instead of regular background music, they play soothing anasheed (without musical instruments), which creates such a calming and welcoming environment. One of the biggest advantages is that they're open late and actually welcome people to work on their laptops—something that's becoming rare in many cafés across Canada. Beyond the café itself, they also have a wonderful selection of hijabs, Qur'ans, Islamic books, games, and home decorations, there is also a private room for Salah, making it a unique place to browse while enjoying your coffee. The coffee and food are absolutely delicious, and the service is exceptional. The café is run by a lovely Kashmiri family who are incredibly kind and hospitable. From the moment you walk in, you genuinely feel at home. What also stood out to me was that I noticed many of the customers were not Muslims. To me, that says a lot—it shows that the café's warm hospitality, peaceful atmosphere, and excellent food and coffee appeal to everyone, regardless of their background. It's a place where anyone can feel comfortable and welcome. If you're looking for a cozy place to relax, study, work, or spend time with family and friends in a welcoming environment, I can't recommend Haifa Cafe enough.
