NIMFA stands for Northern Ireland Muslim Family Association. It is one of the only two Muslim organisations serving Muslim community in Belfast and around for a number of years. It was formed in 2002 to represent three generations of Muslims who have been living in Northern Ireland since the 1940s. NIMFA is committed to integrate in the life of the local society of Northern Ireland, while at the same time help preserve the Islamic identity of its members. The members of NIMFA are multi-cultural and multi-ethnic in nature. It aims to promote the spiritual, social, educational, recreational, psychological and physical well-being of all members of a Muslim family. In addition, it provides help to these families in order to preserve their Islamic identities, and integrate in the community of Northern Ireland as Northern Irish Muslims.
