Belfast Islamic Centre mosque in Belfast, County Antrim

Belfast Islamic Centre

38 Wellington Park, Belfast, County Antrim

Sunni (Traditional)

The Belfast Islamic Centre was established in 1978 and serves the estimated 4-5,000 Muslims in Northern Ireland representing 40 countries around the world. In addition to providing a place of worship, the mosque serves as a community centre, a social-cultural centre, a resource centre, advice centre and a day-care centre. Due to inadequate facilities, the community is planning the construction of a new mosque in the near future. The Belfast Islamic Centre is a registered charity organisation, run by an elected executive committee, elected every 2 years. Their website is one of the oldest of any mosque, online since 1995.
