Rhyl Islamic Culture Centre

30 Water Street, Rhyl, Wales

Sunni (Traditional)

The small local Muslim Community in and around Rhyl, led by a few Muslim doctors from Glan Clwyd Hospital, were able to buy a magnificent building and convert it into the Islamic Cultural Centre. The building, which was a derelict 19th century Welsh Baptist Tabernacular Chapel, was acquired in Ramadan (9th Feb) 1996. The first Friday prayer was held on the 15th March 1996 and since then, the Centre holds the daily prayers as well as regular seminars and cultural activities including excellent study circles and a weekend Islamic school.
