Beautiful masjid with beautiful people. I prayed here while I was visiting this town. The masjid was clean, clean bathrooms, nice people, and an amazing basketball court. They are currently looking for a youth director to develop the youth of the community. This masjid has its priorities set (from what I saw). I wish them the best.

The Hoover Crescent Islamic Center is located in the suburb of Hoover, 10 miles south of downtown Birmingham. Opened in December 2007, the center is open 24/7 for all daily prayers. Weekly jummah attendance is well over 300 people. The prayer hall has a capacity for over 400 worshippers. A variety of educational programs are held at the center throughout the week, including weekend school for children, quran reading classes, and tafseer classes. The center is home to the administrative office of the Birmingham Islamic Society, which employs a full time and office manager and an imam. More details about classes and activities held at the center can be found on the BIS website (www.bisweb.org). The center is always looking for ways to meet the needs of the community. It currently offers free high-speed wireless internet service, recycling center, separate boys and girls youth social rooms, a community library and an outdoor recreational field. Projects in the works include an outdoor basketball court, and 1/4 mile walking trail. Future expansion plans include more classrooms, an expanded parking lot, an indoor gym/recreational area, and a community function hall. If you are going through or stopping in the Birmingham area, plan to stop by the HCIC. It is located right off of I-65 for easy access.
