This masjid is affiliated with Nation of Islam. NOT Sunni islam. In fact, the masjid is used by Shias during Ramadan

I have attended this mosque on occasion, and find the tolerance for pluralism wonderful. The mosque is run by an Imam who has served this community for a number of years. I once remarked on the remarkable tolerance for various expressions of Islam to particpate there, and he replied 'As long as it doesn't take one from the Qur'an.' The mosque is primarily African American who have been in the community for a long time. People of other backgrounds also regularly attend. This mosque is a shining light, and I have been to many mosques. I am planning to start attending regularly, insha'Allah.
