At-Takaful Islamic Society was established in 1987 to serve the cause of Allah. The Society functions on the principles of Islamic Shurah- under the guidelines of its by-laws. The Society is governed by a Board of five to seven permanent trustees and the Executive Director (Ameer). The Society is a not for profit Islamic organization registered and incorporated in the State of Illinois, USA. The Society is Tax Exempt under the rules of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the State of Illinois. The Society has a covered area of about 10,000 square feet which is used for mosque, school and da€'wah activities. The current available space is insufficient and a larger building is badly needed.

I've live near here for les than a year and would go to this mosque. It has a school as well for the children up to 6th grade (this may have changed). The mosque bathrooms are clean, it has a wudu area, as well as free iftars.

The Islamic Center of Chicago, is to me the best masjid in Chicago and truly does stand as a center of the community. It constantly has programs every week and has amazing scholars that can connect to the youth and the elders in the community as well. Although the space is limited it really is the people that make this masjid a great one.

This is an active masjid serving as both the center of a very dedicated and diverse community of locals as well as a host for large events that bring together Muslims from throughout Chicagoland. Weekly dhikr sessions with Shaykh Hussain Abdul Sattar and weekly seerah lectures by Mufti Hussain Kamani (who is also a great resource as the daily Imam at ICC) are well attended. The mosque also supports a weekend school and a daily full-time school. Parking is limited but street parking is available.
