Balham Mosque

47 Balham High Road, Wandsworth, Greater London

Sunni (Traditional)

Balham Mosque, the first mosque in Balham, was founded in 1978 to serve Muslims living in Balham, Tooting, South Clapham and Mitcham. The Balham Mosque purchased part of the old Mayfair Cinema in 1997, and established the Tooting Islamic Centre there. Both are run by the same leadership. The masjid follows the hanafi fiqh and is run by Memons and Pakistanis; however, the people that attend are multicultural. Currently under construction but open.
