Atlanta Masjid of Al-Islam

560 Fayetteville Road SE, Atlanta, GA

Sunni (Traditional)

Located in the historic East Atlanta Community, the Atlanta Masjid of Al-Islam is the largest and oldest Islamic community in Metro Atlanta. We are a community of believers adhering to the Qur'an and the life traditions of Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessing Be Upon Him). We are in association with the leadership and vision of Imam W. Deen Mohammed (1933 "“ 2008, may Allah be pleased with him). The Atlanta Masjid is blessed to be supported by four generations of Muslims who are fully engaged residents of Georgia and the United States of America. Our community life is expressed through member activities in areas such as education, entrepreneurship, civic involvement, interfaith, and international relations. Our masjid is open for the five daily prayers, Jumuah, and Sunday taleem. We offer classes in Islamic and Arabic studies for children and adults.

A very united, kind community. The believers are very welcoming and friendly. There are also various programs that enables one to easily get involved with the masjid, as there is also a good bit of interaction with the local community. The masjid is surrounded by various businesses, including a halal bakery and restaurant, and there is a K-12 school down the street. Every time I am in Atlanta, I make an effort to attend, as the imam also gives very insightful, relevant khutbahs.

Very friendly and open group of people. Very involved in the interfaith community. One of the more progressive mosques in the area.

This is a loving and embracing masjid that recognizes the needs of new converts! Allahu Akbar! I travel many miles to attend when I can. Those new to Islam can find a lot of help and encouragement here! Everyone is friendly and everyone prays in the same room. Wonderful, Masha'Allah! There are lovely renovations, great Imams, a nursing room for mothers and babies, and the list goes on! I can't recommend this masjid enough!

MashAllah this masjid is very progressive and community oriented. They selected a new Imam that is taking that community to new places. The women's bathroom was recently remodeled and the community in general was very welcoming.

I did a tour of this masjid about 2 years ago. The seemed very nice and professional. Plenty of space for the sisters and a very friendly atmosphere.
