Zabihah API Terms

These terms govern use of the Zabihah developer API (the “API”). By creating an API key you agree to them. In these terms, “you” and “your” refer to the developer or organization using the API, and “we,” “us,” and “Zabihah” refer to Zabihah LLC.

1. License & scope

Zabihah grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to call the /api/v1 endpoints with a valid key and to display the returned first-party halal data within your application, subject to these terms.

2. Attribution & deep links

You must display clear attribution to Zabihah (e.g. “Powered by Zabihah”) wherever API data is shown, and must not remove the _attribution field or imply the data is your own. Where you display a place, you must link back to its Zabihah page using the zabihahUrl returned for that place. Attribution-free or white-label use is available only under a separate written Enterprise agreement.

3. No bulk extraction, reconstruction, or competing use

You may not scrape, enumerate, systematically crawl, or bulk-export the dataset; cache or store responses beyond reasonable operational TTLs; permanently mirror the data; resell, sublicense, or redistribute the raw data; use it to train machine-learning or AI models; use it for lead generation; or use the API to build, supply, or improve a competing halal directory, dataset, or discovery product. The goal of the program is syndicated discovery that links back to Zabihah, not data replacement.

4. Give-to-get (contribution)

Free and higher quota tiers are conditioned on contributing data back to Zabihah — corrections, halal evidence, and anonymized usage signals from your users. You grant Zabihah a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, verify, and incorporate any contribution you submit. Contributions must be accurate and lawfully collected.

5. Halal data integrity

Halal verification signals and HalalRank are provided as-is for informational purposes and are identical across all tiers. Access level never changes the halal data you receive. Zabihah does not guarantee any place’s halal status; you must not represent the data as a religious ruling.

6. Rate limits, suspension & revocation

Usage is metered per key. Zabihah may throttle, suspend, or revoke keys at any time for abuse, terms violations, or security reasons. Keys are secrets; you are responsible for protecting them and for all activity under your keys.

7. No warranty; limitation of liability

The API and data are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zabihah is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the API.
