The short menu consists of an original Char'd burger - a single or double beef patty with American cheese, lettuce, onions, pickles and a special Char'd sauce - as well as a hot option with jalapenos. Customers can also order a grilled cheese sandwich, and chicken wings were added earlier this year.
A halal certificate is clearly visible on the premises. From the management: 'In addition to being halal, Char'd stresses its use of all-natural, fresh ingredients, including grass-fed beef that's never frozen and buns sourced from a small-batch bakery.'
Score reflects admin-confirmed halal status; no additional evidence on file yet.
What a great location and the same great quality I’ve come to expect
Char’d is an absolute gem to DC’s burger scene! I was initially skeptical of the extremely high Google rating. I thought there was no way that an average of 4.8 stars from 132 reviews could possibly live up to the hype. Surely there had to be a catch—maybe they offered something free in exchange for a five-star review. I stand corrected. I am writing this as a public service, a compulsion 132 other people probably felt after the remarkable experience we’ve all had at Char’d. I loved their double cheeseburgers, their thick and decadent vanilla milkshake, and their incredible fries that were clearly fried in clean, high quality oil. The burgers were seared to perfection, the sauce magically bonding the ingredients, the buns toasted golden just right. To fully appreciate the fries, I recommend the regular one rather than the seasoned version. We watched the Mexico-England game here. It’s nice that they have two big screens and are open until late. Cheers to the team for excellent food and service!
