My cousins and I (7 people) disappointedly left a nearby cafe, and we were on the hunt for good food. Something light, tasty, and easy to eat while standing. While walking in the nighttime, we came across this Halal BBQ cart. And let me tell you that we were NOT disappointed. The chicken skewers were so juicy. Before serving it, the staff asks about your preference of the spice level. The chicken, when you bite into it, has a slight sweet chili sauce taste. But as a brown person who loves spice and not really sweet food, the sweet was very subtle. Which I loved, it was a nice taste. The spice and seasonings were so perfect, and the salt was just right. I LOVED LOVED LOVED the chicken skewers. My cousins and I left to go try something else, but within 30 minutes, we ended up at the cart again to try the beef skewers. I personally prefer chicken over beef all day; but I also highly recommend the beef. It was so flavorful!! And sometimes, restaurants make their beef skewers too hard and chewy that your mouth becomes tired. But the beef was soft and had a nice texture. I will definitely be back. And another important note is that the staff is amazing. They were very hospitable. They looked out for us in case we needed anything, and they themselves asked for feedback on how to improve, which not every place does. Their kindness is also another reason why I would go back. And the space was clean. But if you’re worried about parking, just know that parking is hard to find in Jackson Heights since it’s always so busy.
