GoogleHad lunch here and the food was phenomenal—absolutely delicious! The presentation was top notch and the portions were generous. The staff were incredibly polite, attentive, and efficient. Our food was served in under 15 minutes, which was impressive. No complaints at all, only compliments. Highly recommended!

GoogleWe came to Velaa Café in Surfers Paradise for dinner on our last night in the Gold Coast, and we are SO thankful we did. From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. We ordered a lot (no regrets 😅). For starters, we had the sesame prawn toast, salmon tartare, salmon zapp, and nori fries. Every single dish was fresh, tasty, and beautifully presented — but the absolute standouts were the salmon tartare and salmon zapp. I’m not sure what they put in them, but those two are an actual must-order. The freshness, texture, and flavour were unreal. Genuinely some of the best starters we’ve had. For mains, we ordered the udon carbonara mentaiko, crispy chicken green curry with steamed jasmine rice, and the tom yum prawns omurice. If you love Japanese/Thai fusion, this place is an absolute must. Every dish was freshly made, full of flavour, and presented so beautifully. It honestly exceeded what we were expecting in both taste and creativity. Now I have to talk about the drinks — especially the “My B.B.” (My Boozy Bingsu). This was such a fun and unique cocktail served in a glass jug/bucket, and it tasted like something you’d sip at a beach resort in Southeast Asia. It had grape soju, pastel popping pearls, lychee juice, lychee syrup, strawberry, lychee flesh, and orange — and somehow it all worked perfectly together. A premium cocktail and definitely a must-try. For dessert, we had the matcha parfait. It was light, soothing, and a nice subtle way to end the meal — nothing overly heavy, just simple and enjoyable. I honestly can’t recommend this place enough. My review doesn’t even feel like it does it justice. If you’re in Surfers Paradise and love Japanese/Thai fusion, Velaa Café is a must-visit. 🌟

GoogleCame here twice for lunch and really enjoyed it. Asian fusion menu with strong Thai influence. Flavours are great. Love that they have a big dessert menu too, from different toast options to bingsu varieties. Definitely worth a visit!

GoogleGood value Thai food in an aesthetic setting. It's one of my favourite & most frequently visited spots on the Gold Coast. There's tasty eats including some less frequently seen dishes like Khao soi, a range of refreshing drinks, and desserts. The lunch specials start at $15.90 which is a great deal. Order via QR code on the table, pay at the counter when you leave. A card surcharge applies. Bookings recommended especially if you have a group.

GoogleThe krawpraw chicken was tender and juicy, perfectly seasoned (which I thought was the best among all dishes ordered but a little bit salty for me). Mango Bingsu was also outstanding as the refreshing mango and coconut flavors blended nicely and tasted smooth; everything else were also fine. The staffs were helpful and the space was clean and tidy.
