Ria Pizza was one of the biggest surprises of our London trip. I never expected to fly across the Atlantic and end up having one of the best Detroit-style pizzas I’ve ever tasted. Reservations are recommended, but we were able to walk in and were seated in the basement dining area. The space is quiet, intimate, and relaxed, with a crowd that felt like a mix of young professionals and university students. The staff were friendly, attentive, and never made us feel rushed. We started with the Fried Potatoes served with a garlic-infused whipped feta dip. The potatoes were excellent, but that dip alone is worth ordering. For pizza, we tried both the House Pie and the Pepperoni Pie. The House Pie featured marinara, ricotta, basil, lemon drizzle, and cheese, while the Pepperoni Pie came topped with red sauce, a cheese blend, cupping pepperoni, hot honey, Grana Padano, and oregano. Both were outstanding. The crust had the perfect crispy texture while remaining light and airy inside. What impressed us most was that the pizzas were so flavourful that there was absolutely no need for any dipping sauces. Every bite, including the crust, was savoury and delicious on its own. It’s also great to see halal options available. To finish, we ordered the Leftover Bread & Butter Pudding with homemade custard. It’s made in limited quantities each day, and once it’s sold out, it’s gone. If it’s available during your visit, don’t skip it. A fantastic spot in Notting Hill that fully lives up to the hype. We would happily return on our next trip to London.
