484 South Salina Street, City of Syracuse, NY
My name is Firas, and I am originally from Baghdad, Iraq. When the war came my family resettled as refugees in Syracuse in 2014. I've cooked at Middle Eastern restaurants in town (Byblos, Red Olive), opened a restaurant with 2 partners (Sumer), opened my own restaurant in Fairmount (Baghdad) and am now opening a stall at Salt City Market. This is a hard business. But I have given my life to it because I love sharing my country's food and making my guests feel cared for. I am devoted to building a business for my sons to inherit and building bridges through food with my new community.
