Part of the Chaiiwala chain — see all 125 locationsChaiiwala began in Leicester in 2015 with a simple, almost stubborn idea: bring the cardamom-and-ginger karak our founders grew up with, the cup served in family kitchens and roadside dhabas across South Asia, to the British high street, properly. No syrups. No shortcuts. A seven-spice blend, whole milk, slow brewing, pulled long the way it’s done back home. The first store opened its doors in Leicester, and the queue made the case. People weren’t just looking for a chaii, they were looking for the cup that meant home. Ten years on, we’re 115 stores strong across the UK, Canada and growing, pouring over 100 million cups, and still brewing each one the way our founders learned in Mumbai.

Things have changed since I last came last month. They changed the prices, before you could get a kebab roll with chips for £1.50 now its £2.50 and another change is they no longer give you 1 sauce for free they now charge which is ridiculous. The lady serving did not smile and was not as friendly. The kebab roll tasted good but needs to be wrapped better as the sauce at the bottom always busts through and spills on clothes or all over my hands. I think it needs double wrapping. The chips tasted good and kebab roll was really good. Its a nice meal for lunch and a good space to get some admin done as its not too noisy. You can park in morrisons carpark for 2 hours for free or nearby roads outside of 9-10am and 3-4pm. I didn’t get it today but would also recommend the karak chai as its super tasty!
