Excellent Iraqi food in the heart of Montreal. My husband and I are big fans of masgouf (grilled fish, the national dish of Iraq), but it\'s not easy to find restaurants that serve it; when we found out that there was a restaurant in Montreal that served it, we knew we had to go there on our upcoming vacation. We ordered the masgouf, hummus, tabbouleh, and samoon (Iraqi rolls). The masgouf was sublime, grilled expertly and unbelievably tender. The platter it came on was garnished with whole scallions, parsley, and torshi (pickled cauliflower and carrots), and served with a fantastic turmeric sauce. The hummus was creamy and garnished with sumac for extra tang, and the samoon was baked fresh. The tabbouleh wasn\'t the best I\'ve had, but the rest of the meal more than made up for it. My dad had tea after the meal, and he appreciated that the sugar was served on the side (Iraqi tea is usually pre-sweetened and quite heavy on the sugar). This is definitely a must-visit when in Montreal.
