Stephen and Juliette Wall opened Pho in June 2005 after they travelled to Vietnam and fell in love with the food. They made the decision to start a restaurant serving pho while sat on high stools, slurping pho bo, in Ho Chi Minh City. 15 years later, Pho is still a family-run business serving great value, healthy Vietnamese street food that is cooked fresh daily (no central kitchens!).
Staff has given verbal assurance of halal status. From the management: 'Our chicken meat and chicken wings are halal. We cannot guarantee that our chicken broth is halal, so if you order a chicken soup, please ask for vegetarian broth.'
Score reflects a halal certificate on file.
Pho delivers a solid 4-star experience if you’re craving something warm, comforting, and full of flavor. The pho broth is rich and aromatic without being too heavy, and the portions are satisfying. Their menu has a good range of Vietnamese classics, so it’s easy to find something whether you’re in the mood for noodles, rice dishes, or lighter bites. The atmosphere is casual and lively, making it a great spot for a quick meal or a relaxed catch-up with friends. Service is generally efficient and friendly, even during busy times. I’m giving it 4 stars because while the food is consistently good, it doesn’t quite reach that standout, authentic “wow” level you might find at smaller, more specialized spots. Still, it’s a dependable choice in Manchester for a tasty and convenient Vietnamese meal.
