Stephen and Juliette Wall opened Pho in June 2005 after they travelled to Vietnam and fell in love with the food. They made the decision to start a restaurant serving pho while sat on high stools, slurping pho bo, in Ho Chi Minh City. 15 years later, Pho is still a family-run business serving great value, healthy Vietnamese street food that is cooked fresh daily (no central kitchens!).
Staff has given verbal assurance of halal status. From the management: 'Our chicken meat and chicken wings are halal. We cannot guarantee that our chicken broth is halal, so if you order a chicken soup, please ask for vegetarian broth.'
Score reflects admin-confirmed halal status; no additional evidence on file yet.
This is my first experience of Vietnamese food, but after this it certainly won’t be long before I have it again. I had the classic curry (beef brisket) - I am a big fan of curry, but this may be the most flavoursome and enjoyable curry I’ve ever eaten - the flavour combination was outstanding; I could eat this for the rest of my life. Highly recommend!!
