Halal summary

Staff has given verbal assurance of halal status.. From the management: 'Back in 2014, there was tremendous demand for halal meat at our Taradale location. So we split the meat department into half traditional butcher, half 100% certified halal. We've since done the same at Monterey and Village Square Co-op is officially designated as an Approved Distributor of Halal Meat and Poultry in accordance with the AHMCC Alberta Halal Monitoring and Certification Council, re-certifying every year. Our butchers are fully trained in Halal meat preparation and all proper handling procedures.'
