From the owner: 'My name is Jesse Koontz and I am the owner and operator of Dog Haus in Lincoln Park. I am writing to verify to you that all of our dogs, burgers, and chili are made from 100% Creekstone Farms beef. We have 3 separate cooking surfaces and 3 separate fryers that have allowed us to 100% accommodate Halal customers to ensure there is no cross-contamination between beef and pork.'
Dog Haus has garnered critical acclaim and national attention for its signature all beef Haus Dogs and handcrafted proprietary Haus Sausages, as well as its 100% genetically tested, humanely raised Black Angus beef which carries no hormones or antibiotics. All Dog Haus dogs, sausages and burgers are served on grilled King's Hawaiian rolls. Restaurants are open for lunch and dinner daily and guests can choose from signature, one-of-kind Haus creations or customize their own from a wide array of unique toppings. Founded by partners Hagop Giragossian, Quasim Riaz and Andre Vener (three friends who share a passion for creativity, quality and commitment to community), the first Dog Haus opened in Pasadena, California in 2010.

This is a restaurant/bar serving hot dogs, hamburgers, and lots and lots of beer. The management of this restaurant was unaware of the source of their meat and were surprised to hear it might be halal and were unfamiliar with Creekstone. The staff assured that the hamburgers (alleged Creekstone), hot dogs (allegedly Creekstone), and sausages (absolutely pork-filled) are cooked on separate grills, which might keep the hot dogs and hamburgers halal until they are topped by bacon, kielbasa, pastrami, etc. (pork). Look, there\'s no way around it -- order what you will, but understand that some percent of what you\'re eating is pork. Before thinking this through, this author tried a hamburger and hot dog, which were ok, but now he thinks his accidental-pork-ingestion clock is back to zero. Sorry, no parking tips in this review.
