A halal certificate is clearly visible on the premises.. Halal chicken approved by Krispy Krunchy and is available for franchisees. Halal franchisees use chickens that are certified by the Islamic Society of the Washington Area, who confirms that 'all poultry are mechanical slaughter with actual muslims on site reciting the tasmiah (bismillah Allahu akbar) during the slaughter process'. The ISWA Halal Certification Department has reviewed four redacted halal certificates provided by Krispy Krunchy Foods and can confirm that those certificated we issued by ISWA to four separate facilities operated by a producer of chicken products with whom the ISWA Halal Certification Department has enjoyed a long-standing business relationship. Chicken products subject to these certificates were processed and produced by the facilities identified in the unredacted versions of the certificates in accordance with ISWA Halal Certification Department's protocols for halal certified products.
Krispy Krunchy Chicken was established in 1993. We have 70 combined years of experience in the c-store/food service industry. There are currently over 600 locations in 25 states. This isn't just any out-of-the-grocery-cooler chicken - this is a proprietary prepared bird and one of the main reasons Krispy Krunchy's chicken tastes so good and unlike no other. Where others may have a proprietary breading, Krispy Krunchy Chicken is the only c-store chicken program with a proprietary chicken preparation. Always moist, always flavorful and always a customer favorite.

Was a bit skeptical of the "halal-ness" upon first glance of this establishment as it's located inside of a gas station convenience store and there is no halal sign nor were there any folks who appeared visibly Muslim.\r\n\r\nThe lady who worked there was super nice though, and I hesitated asking about where the source of the chicken came from as I thought she might not know why I was asking but eventually I'm did. Just by my asking she mentioned that it comes direct from the company via their own supplier and that the boxes are marked halal certified.\r\n\r\nI was satisfied with this but still a bit uneasy so I asked if she wouldn't mind showing me one of the boxes to which she gladly complied and the label was in fact there clear as day.\r\n\r\nSuffice to say that I left with a 4 piece chicken pack and a smile on my face.
