The owners are not Muslims anymore. You can see leaflets to Church events on the counter. Theyve still left up the halal sign and still claim to be halal. The food is not that great anyways. Jan 13, 2015: They now have a gambling machine in the store.
First tried a burger here in late 2012, liked it instantly. Homemade, properly spiced tender meat with good sauces. Seemed like the staff/owners changed in 2013, the burger was decent but not great . Liked their jerk chicken though, and heard people complementing their caribbean rice and curries.
Great burgers. Real juicy. Try them with a little garlic sauce! Doubles are pretty good too. Overall good quality, reasonable prices.
One of the best burgers in the city... The restaurant has lots of variety ... Everything made well by good people !
Jive's portioning is quite large, however, I wasn't impressed with the burger at all. I found the Jive's cheeseburger to be a bit gamey and undercooked. On the flip side, Jive's poutine hit the spot! It was super cheesy, and moist.
I just went there after Jumaa today, and I must say, I had a very pleasant experience. First, as the previous post stated, the owner was very nice and helpful, despite it being a busy time of day. Very much customer oriented. I tried the jive burger combo, and the patty was huge, tasty and fresh I will be definitely going back and trying the other stuff.
This place was just taken over by new owners (dec/2011) Food is super, super yummy! I had the jerk chicken with peas n' rice, and hubby had the chicken roti. Best part? the munchkin got his fix with chicken nuggets and frings.. :) since the place is split between north american and Carribean food , theres something for everyone. Food is deeelish, CAN'T wait to go back for more! The carribean food chef is of west indian background so the food is LEGIT!
Take out place located right next to Popeyes in a fairly new plaza, it's also shared with a caribbean food place (same owner). I didn't enjoy the burger, had a weird after taste and the bun was too big. Had a couple of Doubles from next door as well which was ok cuz they made it fresh. The people working there were very friendly. Maybe I will return to try it again.
I ordered food from Uber today and had a very disappointing experience. The chicken fillet was undercooked and very hard to bite. The portion of fries was extremely small, and the same with the poutine. Now I understand why some of their other locations have permanently closed. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this place. For the amount they charge, you can easily eat somewhere much better. Very bad experience.
