About Taco Zocalo
Chef Basir brings his love for food, hospitality and business to every meal. For as long as he can remember, he has enjoyed giving people a unique and fun experience through food. After many years of successful business ownership, he took his passion one step further when he completed a degree in Culinary Arts from the world renowned Art Institute. With the belief that fine cuisine should be available and convenient for everyone, he founded Chef On Wheels in 2012 and has been spreading deliciousness in the DC area through a snazzy red truck.

Kind of hard to find but once you do you’ll keep coming back. The chimichangas are the best I’ve ever had.

My favorite taco place, I go often and I love the simplicity of the menu and the variety of protein. Beef Barbacoa and brisket are my favorite and the chicken Tinga. Although I often get the tacos I've also had the chimichangas which were fresh and delicious. Owner is a nice guy and everything halal!

Food here is excellent! I can't think of a better Mexican place in the DMV area. Their menu is relatively limited, but whatever they make, they make very well. My usual is getting the three tacos (with corn tortilla) with Chicken Tinga, Beef Barbacoa, and Steak. Their beef brisket is not bad, it just doesn't match the flavor profile of a taco. Unfortunately, they just setup alcohol for sale as of last week. Sad to see them needing to do that.

Amazing food. This is the Goto place for authentic tacos and burritos. Very simple restaurant environment and there is seating but the food is just plain amazing. You won't be disappointed. We had the chicken burritos, excellent. We had the shrimp tacos, excellent. We had the beef, steak, and chicken tacos, all excellent. The homemade sauce with the tortilla chips has the perfect punch. Spoke with chef and cashier who both confirmed it was halal. Go here and enjoy!

This place has some great food. I had the three tacos one with chicken, one with steak, and one with ground beef. This was the best tacos ive had. They tasted like they were from an upscale restaurant. Spices and everything were all perfect, and service was excellent. Price around $10 was well worth it. I spoke to the chef and confirmed it was halal.
