Man , people have not left bad reviews for no reason. This man is a nut case, he hates his own customers , average food , went their because Silver Spoon was closed on Tuesday , but one should learn the art of losing customers from this old man! Super arrogant , rude and totally ungentlemanly , the place is bare bones with faded signs and dead environment, avoid it if you are a frequent traveler like me who prefers nice and clean food and good service.
This place is very dirty and has horrible customer service. I recently moved to Tampa and was looking for a Pakistani restaurant. Rana Grill and Silver spoon are the only 2 Pakistani restaurants in Tampa. So I went to Rana, it is very dirty and the people working there don't know what customer service is. The owners will give you a horrible look. The food itself is below average. There really is not a good option for Pakistani food in Tampa, we we do in Chicago or Houston.
I have been buying meat from this butcher since they opened because of the good service and clean environment. There is one practice though that irks me and that is the fact that when you buy Keema ( beef chicken or lamb) then the butcher will first weigh the meat before putting it into the mincer and charge you accordingly. He doesn\'t take all the meat out before packaging which results in you having to pay for meat that was left in the mincer. Last week, I asked him to weigh the final package and he refused to do it saying that I am whining about a few pennies, so I asked him to weigh the package to check if he was right so I put the meat on his scale and found that the 2.74lbs that he charged for now only weighed 1.92lbs. He the told me that he does that because he removes more fat than other butchers do so and he will lose money if he weighs after. I responded that he should should rather increase the per pond price instead of estimating and he told me that in that case I should shop somewhere else.
This restaurant doesn't even deserve a one star because of the owner. He is so rude to his customers. He actually treated me with disrespect after he learned that I was not Punjabi. He asked me questions like why I didn't speak Punjabi and started arguing with me over that in front of my in-laws who are Punjabi (way better Punjabis that the owner of this restaurant). I had the food a few times before this incident and it wasn't too bad. But I won't be going back to this restaurant ever again even if all the other desi restaurants close down in Tampa Bay and this one remains open. Horrible man, he is.
Our family had dinner at this restaurant and I must agree with the other reviewers that that the food is pretty average if not below average. The decor and service does not warrant the menu pricing and it appears that the food is prepared using over the counter boxed spices. I did not experience any bad treatment from the owner but this is because I am a regular customer at his meat market next door and he showed appreciation for my loyalty.
Customer service was nonexistent. No greeting nor response to me when I walked in. The lady taking the order was not very knowledgeable of the menu items. She kept going into the back to ask questions. Food took long to prepare despite being the only people (party of 2) in the restaurant. The food was over cooked and did not have much flavor. Could not finish our food. No one came by to check on us once food was served. Will not be going back. They do have a nice sized seating space, but that's the only positive I can think of.
We recently moved to Tampa Bay area from a state that doesn't offer much in terms of Halal food, so we were excited to check out all Halal places; especially desi restaurants. But needless to say, we thoroughly disappointed at at our first visit to Rana. We decided to give them another chance, but the second visit turned out to be worse than the first. These people give a whole new meaning to rude customer service. Customer Service: Extremely Poor. We walked into the restaurant and there was only one party of three (non-desi) already sitting at the table. We went and stood in front of the counter for at least 5 minutes before they could even notice us! And when they did, the lady (wife of the owner) asked very abruptly "Yes?" My wife said salam to her which went unanswered. We asked to be seated and were pointed to a table which we took. Not long after we sat, the owner guy walked in, totally ignoring us and went straight to the party that was there before us and started cracking stupid jokes and eventually took their order. We thought he would come to us after them and take our order. But, could we be more wrong? We waited 15 minutes and when nobody came to take our order, I walked up to the counter and gave our order to Rana. While at the counter, I tried to strike a friendly conversation with him but all in vain. His replies were abrupt, rude and unwelcoming. While we waited for our food, a few more parties came who were treated with varied levels of attitude. Some were treated very nicely while others not so much. A big party of 7 Indians (hindus) came and their order was taken at their table as opposed to us and one other party who came after us. These people shouldn't be the face of the restaurant! They need to go through attitude adjustment big time! They most definitely belong in the back or even better on the janitorial staff. Food Quality: Below Average.

1- Naans were OK.

2- Chicken curry dish was partially cold. They should have added another minute to microwave!

3- Biryani was bland

4- Kababs were not fully cooked

Restaurant Decor: Below Average. Not much to say here. It is just a big open dining hall type setting with tables and chairs. Cleanliness: Below Average.
Salam Tried fish , chicken , shami kabob, goat biryani. It was average . Kabobs were delicious . His chicken is hand slaughter halal. He gets his chicken from senate, Newjersey and from his own farm which is organic (according to him). Everything was ready in 15 min ( which shows it was microwaved.)His staff was not muslim ( bad part). The lady in the counter was hindu and inside staff was spanish. We wanted to pray and he allowed us to pray in his next door meat shop. Place and bathroom were clean . Owner is paki.
Awesome Food. I would recommend this place to visit once if you want Pakistani food. ðŸ‘
Really not impressed by the food. Had chicken 65, fries, tandoori naan, and Beef seekh kebab. The fries were too oily. The seekh kebab was tasteless. Have had better desi food coming from a box.
Would defintely not recommend. I have been here twice and both time service was terrible. Over-priced and the Owner is quite rude and unfriendly. Fast food environment with horrible service. Very disappointing...............
This is my second time here and love this place. I ordered Lahori charga and kheer.. Awesome! The staff is v. friendly and take care of their customer. You gonna love this place...
I was scared to go there after reading reviews but I was surprised that parking was difficult to get and big hall was more then half full. Service was fast food style but food taste like home food, punjabi style. We loved the food and Chana daal halwa was delicious.
Horrible service. Quality of food doesn't make up for the owners disrespectful attitude. Don't go unless you want to be berated and leave angry. Restaurant owners like this should go work in the back and not be doing customer DISservice.
We were visiting Florida from Texas had spent one of our vacation days in Tampa. We wanted to eat at a decent halal restaurant and picked Rana's. This was not a good choice. First, we were the only Muslims inside. The rest were Hindus. (I don't have a problem with that, but it gave a weird vibe.) Next, we had to buy water as opposed to being provided a water pitcher. We ordered Karachi chicken, chicken boti, and charga. The charga was fine, but the other two were bland. The service was okay, not too bad. I would have expected a little better at a Desi restaurant. Overall, I wouldn't go there again nor would I recommend it to anyone else.
Food was not very impressive. Needs lots of improvements and much better customer service. Eating on paper plates with plasticware is not fun.
First of all, if you respect your self kindly DO NOT go to this restaurant. The man running this restaurant has no respect of how to talk to a lady. The food we ordered was undercooked. We did not ask for any replacement and paid the bill. When we were walking out a quietly told Mr. Rana that the food was undercooked, instead he made a commotion telling the whole restaurant and raising his voice on me. Instead of accepting the mistake he started telling me and my husband that he has been in restaurant business for many years and we should not teach him how to make food. This is the epitome of disgrace and disrespect. Neither us nor any of our friends go to this place any more. The food neither the management is worth the disrespectful treatment of guests!
Another desi resturant taking customerr service to new low. Bad attitude from the owner. No concept that the custoemr is the reason they are open. Asked if they table service " we are fast food resturant". Ok, you got me as captive audience so I live with that one. Self service on everything . Strofoam supplies. No water on the counter. Burnt chicken nuggets, frozen fries for kids meal. Karahi Chicken listed on the single page menu as $6.99 charged $7.99. Overall, sorry service, ok food. Another desi resturant taking its clientale for granted.
service depands on your status some people gets china plates with silverware some gets paper plates and plastic ware food is ok but prices vary daily like stock market nice people but dont know how to run
Very nice and clean place and the food was excellent, fresh, and tasty. Pure Pakistani Punjabi home cooked flavour.
The food here is fresh and it taste like home cooked food. I would definitely go back to this restaurant.
This restaurant is actually in Tampa. The decor is quite bare and the service is hit or miss. I have been here several times. The food is fresh. Grilled chicken is very good. Chicken biryani was a bit bland. Naan were also very good. The owners are nice but simple people. Hopefully they will improve the decor (very cheap plastic plates and utensils).
Food, especially BBQ dishes are great. I wish the quality will be maintained.
The food was perfect . Nice clean FRESH food
The best Pakistani food. Also they sell halal meat.Very nice & clean.Store is in Tampa,Florida.
