Voted best Shawarma and Poutine in town. Serving Fresh grilled Chicken Tikka and Lamb Kabobs as well.
The owners are Muslim and have confirmed its halal status. From the management: '100% Zabiha Halal'
Score reflects a halal certificate on file.
Parking is tough during the busy hours, yet I make it a point to stop by at least once a week anyway on my way home from work. Amazing food for a great price. Really nice owners.
*New Owners, all food is 100% halal and verified with reciepts. Amazing food, clean place and polite employees. They do not cheap out on toppings like other places.
Surprised to see, this establishment on zabihah let alone be certified by HMA. When I went there and asked if every thing was halal. The owner said everything halal except the pepperoni is from pork. I looked at him for a few seconds and asked why is that the case. He stated " its for the Canadian customers, they do not like the taste of halal beef pepperoni." That was enough to deter me from buying anything at from there. There is a high chance of cross contamination between the pork(Strictly Haram) pepperoni and other foods. But it also begs the question, how honest are the owners about other ingredients? As muslims we should be very careful about choosing halal restaurants and we should not accept anything but confirmed 100% halal. Just my 2 cents.
I visited my family this past weekend, and a friend recommended this restaurant, saying their shawarma is really good—and I’m glad I gave it a try. First of all, the service was fantastic. They had actually sold out of rice that day, and since I’m a big rice fan, I was a bit disappointed at first. However, after finding out I was visiting from Toronto, they went out of their way to find some rice for me so I could try the shawarma the way I wanted. I truly appreciated their effort—thank you! The rice was actually quite good—soft and not dry or hard, which I really liked. The chicken was flavorful and juicy as well. That said, the overall taste was good, but not quite at the level I would consider exceptional. The portion size for the regular meal was a bit on the smaller side. If you have a bigger appetite, I would recommend ordering the large size. Also, compared to other shawarma places, the amount of sauce is a bit less—so if you like your food well-sauced, you may want to order two extra portions of sauce. Overall, a good experience with excellent service. I would recommend it if you’re in the area, though there’s still a bit of room for improvement.
