My mother and I are celiac, and when we arrived, I told the waitress this and that we both needed gluten free meals. When we ordered, I also asked for each item to be gluten free. At the end of the dinner my mother realized as she was eating the couscous that it might not be gluten free, and we asked again to check. The waitress said that it was the regular gluten couscous, and then she told us that there was no gluten free option on the menu for what we had ordered. I was sure I had ordered gluten free so I checked the menu again, and there was of course a gluten free option for what I had ordered. When we complained, the manager / owner told us it was our fault for not realizing as soon as we received it, even though I checked a few times when we were ordering, so we trusted that what they brought us was gluten free. She was not apologetic and instead kept yelling at us for not realizing sooner. It was ridiculous and terrible customer service. I think she realized in the end it was their fault because she gave us 5 euros cash for a €17 meal, but she still didn’t apologize at all. I would not recommend this place based on this experience, unfortunately, otherwise it would have been a nice dinner.
Good food and ok prices for the amount you get, but terrible service from our experience. Our group of five had two people with celiac disease which we made our server aware of. We ordered an item from the menu that could be made gluten free but were given the gluten version despite clearly stating the gluten allergy. We were offered no apology when we discovered the error and were told “we should have known when we saw the sausage on the plate.” Very unhelpful and argumentative owners which is unfortunate for the beautiful location and tasty food.
Absolutely amazing! Our best meal on the trip! The owner Yassine is so warm and welcoming, greeted us with a big smile, was helpful explaining the dishes and made the evening a pure delight. The food… WOW!! Different than any meal we had and the flavors were perfect. We ordered the pastilla au poulet (sumptuous pastry filled with chicken) and tagines agneau (lamb, apricots, plums, almonds). This dish was exquisite, lamb perfectly cooked, tender falling off the bone, apricots and plums sweet, we were soaking up the sauce with the bread. Dinner at Le Touareg was a wonderful experience in Colmar. Thanks, Yassine, for a beautiful evening!
The food was amazing! The everything has flavour to it, the spice, the vegetables, the soup everything. You can taste the flavours and how they compliment each other. The tea! I'm not a tea person but this tea was delicious 😋 We went back...of course! Again, the service was outstanding and the ambiance takes you from France to Morocco. The food is too good! My mother and I ordered different dishes so we could have the best of both worlds and share. The flavours when hit your tongue, are like a dance party. Dad relived the expereince again by ordering the same meal as the day before. We can't highly recommend this family owned restaurant enough. From Australia 🇦🇺 ♥️
Lovely restaurant in the centre of Colmar with very tasty authentic Moroccan food. The couscous and the tajin were delicious as well as the lentil soup. The staff were very friendly but the only problem was the restaurant's policy of charging extra for extra plate. We were a big group with 3 children so it wouldn't have made sense for everyone to get their own portion so we wanted to share. The owner said that if she were to give us extra plates to put the food on, she'd charge us the price of a full new portion. This is simply absurd in my opinion. Nevertheless, it was still overall a pleasant experience as the food, the music and the vibe at the restaurant were nice
