The menus clearly state that halal food is served.. From the management: 'The Halal Guys takes great pride in using only the highest quality, halal-certified meats. We know many of our customers like to know the sources of their food and we are happy to provide the Halal certifications for our chicken and our beef gyro. 100% halal food.'
From humble beginnings as a New York City hot dog cart to a world-renowned international restaurant chain, The Halal Guys story is the quintessential American Dream. The Halal Guys is defining a new, thriving segment for the restaurant industry: American Halal Food! The Halal Guys legend began in 1990, when the three founding partners opened up a hot dog cart on West 53rd & 6th Avenue in New York City. As business grew, they recognized a huge demand from Muslim cab drivers looking for a halal food meal. That is when the famous platter of chicken and gyro over rice was born. And let's not forget about the famous white and red sauces! Fast-forward 25 years, five carts, two New York City restaurants, and millions of diverse customers served, The Halal Guys is growing yet again. Fans no longer have to be in NYC to experience The Halal Guys as they look to share American Halal Food all over the country and the world.

Consistent delivery of that NYC street grub, whether it\'s Current Avenue in SJ CA, the Dunn Loring Metro stop or at Tysons I in VA. The white sauce, while delish, hides a mega dose of sat fat. The red sauce is sooooo hot, you could lose a tongue!
Agree with previous reviews, nothing like NYC, rice is dry and so is the chicken. But if you do decide to go, I recommend asking for no salad, so you can get more meat and rice.
I second alireza24 comment. Smaller portions and dryer meat
I've been here a few times. Honestly, if you've had the NY Cart Halal Guys (which I've had plenty of times), this will be a disappointment. It's just not the same. The portions are smaller. It's more expensive. Less tasty. A little more dry. They're very stingy here with regards to everything like sauce, meat, etc. The bowls are all 70% full unlike in NY. You would think you'd get better service in a brick & mortar restaurant, but the carts in NY have better service than here. But it's Halal Guys! So I come back and get disappointed frequently :-)
Great beef gyro.. would come back.
If u want to carry out then its good. There r few seats inside and the music is so loud that its so hard to hear each other. We got a strong headeche eating inside. Food tastes good just like NY cart.
We went on one of the Soft Open Days (any day before Sept 2). Although it\'s been years since I\'ve been to the NYC cart, and I can\'t remember what that tasted like. This was good and worth getting again. I got 2 platters...one with chicken and one with gyro. I think next time I would either get just gyro or the combo chicken and gyro. I\'m more a fan of the gyro. White sauce was great and the hot sauce was super super hot.
Was nothing like the carts in NY. Very dry chicken and beef mixed with dry rice and cold salad that takes up half the plate hidden under the rice. Sauces were good; but to enjoy it one must really dump as much white sauce as possible to add taste and mositure back into the meat and rice. Meat is cold and dry because it\'s cut and stored in advance - it\'s not fresh off the gyro like at the carts unfortunelately. Skip the salad completely.
