1 Norfolk House, Hinckley Street, Birmingham, West Midlands
Established in 1962, this family run business has been providing residents and visitors with the finest Indian cuisine for over 50 years. We stay away from assembly-line work and prepare our dishes fresh upon ordering and entirely from scratch. The quality of the food and service we provide are of the upmost important to the restaurant. Our restaurant is located in Birmingham city centre, only about 2-5 minutes (approximately) walking distance from local attractions and amenities such as Birmingham New Street Station, Bullring Shopping Centre, Chinese Quarters, Birmingham's Market and Arcadean nightlife and bars.

Great food and reasonably priced especially for a city centre location. I've ate here a few times when in the city after a few beers. Staff are always friendly and the food is consistently good every time. We came quite late one evening and they were pretty much cleaning down to close but they still accommodated us with food and drinks and did not rush us to eat. This is a quieter area of town now as a lot of the surrounding business and bars have shut and not survived the changing city but anyone visiting the city looking for a good curry should definitely visit here and keep these local independent restaurants going as opposed to the main chains that are popping up.
I’m going to give them a 4 star, not my local and i would return if i was in the area. The food was amazing, couldn’t pick a fault only thing is when i got the bill they put £3 on for service. Which I don’t mind paying but there wasn’t much service to be honest, the only thing they did was bring us food and take away plates. Nice restaurant and it feels cosy to sit and eat. only 1 toilet for male and female which isn’t a problem unless the restaurant is packed. Took our own drinks and the bloke didn’t mind. But overall the food was great and we would return.
Brilliant eatery with considerate service. My mate and I were first people in on a wet Tuesday night at the start of February. We were warmly welcomed and served promptly. The food was excellent and portions were generous. As we were the only ones in, arriving more or less as it opened it’s not possible to comment on atmosphere (hence 3*) Simple summary : a great eatery with welcoming staff. I will definitely visit again next time I stay in Birmingham.
Ate here whilst staying near New Street Station. Perfect location, warm welcome, delicious food and great service (I needed a quick turnaround but they were also managing much longer meals!). A popular place for families, friends and everyone and noone batted an eyelid that I was alone. Saag paneer delicious and a really light daal. Great place to eat if staying near the station.
I visited here as a solo traveller during the week, looking for an authentic Indian restaurant away from the usual hustle and bustle. Being both on my own and a big curry enthusiast, I was fortunate to discover this gem. It’s tucked just behind New Street Station and only a short walk from the Bullring. The service was excellent — especially from Galib, who was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what he does. I even noticed him go out of his way to arrange a taxi for another solo diner without hesitation, which really says a lot about the care here. I ordered a Rogan Josh, my favourite dish, and they happily adjusted the spice level to suit my preference. Galib and I ended up chatting about Indian cuisine and chillies (which I grow myself), comparing ingredients and cooking methods between Bangladesh and the UK. His knowledge and friendliness really added to the experience. I was amazed to learn this restaurant has been around since 1962 — a true testament to its quality. What a fantastic find! I’ll definitely be back next month when I’m over for the football.
