Mediterranean Gourmet Market

Restaurant and market owner George is friendly and polite. I order Ahmad tea brand as they don't serve coffee. Too much competition with cheap coffee at 7-11 next door. Also had some Lebanese bakery items and a halal gyro to go. BTW falafel doesn't have any meat as mentioned in another review for this place. Overall it's a nice cozy place with both a market and food service.

Great to see halal Lebanese food within a mile of our house. There is also the market on Pickett, but there are not the same menu options. This place has good reviews on Yelp but does not mention being zabihah. My husband went to pick up falafel the other day and was verbally assured by the owners that all the meat was zabihah. Some of the grocery meat products were also labeled halal. The food was not blow your mind amazing, but it was still pretty good. We got a chicken shawarma sandwich which was fresh made with sides of hummus and tabouli and pre-made kibbeh (probably made on premises) which was pretty good heated up in the toaster oven. I will have to go one of these days myself to see what else they have to offer (the menu on yelp said they had ashta, but when my husband asked they just pointed him to a can of cream). I'm happy though that I don't to drive to Falls Church or Merrifield to get my Lebanese food kick!
